Aceberg Berry

A berry that has chemicals reacting that keeps the berry frozen, even in above freezing conditions. Makes a great snack for ice types. It is mostly sweet, with a mild sour and very slight bitter taste. It is also perpetually frozen, and has the consistency of a frozen grape. Once picked, this berries abillity to keep itself frozen will begin to gradually weaken. When the berry can no longer keep itself frozen through its internal chemical reactions, it must be discarded.

Ripe Aceberg berries can stay frozen even in harsh deserts, though they will expire much faster. Its best to keep them stored in a cold place, as they can last a very long time in the right conditions.

The Aceberg Berry was inspired by Acerola, also known as the Barbados Cherry.

The etymology of the word "Aceberg" is Acerola + Iceberg. Aceberg also sounds like iceberg.

Amzu Berry

A rare berry that only glows in the amber forest. It’s interior is usually hidden under a distinct dark red peel. At night, the peel will retract, revealing the berries strong amber glow that lights up the forest at night

The berry is bitter and sour, with a hint of spiciness as well. It also has an umami taste. The juice is an acquired taste that can be used in cooking to give food a warmer taste

The Azmu Berry was inspired by a Yuzu, a citrus fruit common in East Asia

The Etymology of the word "Amzu" is Amber + Yuzu

Arbuthan Berry

Known colloquially as the leviathan berry, the Arbuthan berry is only found in the Wyvern Ridge in the small patches of grass you can find high on the mountain. While growing it appears white, but fully grown it is either red, purple, or blue. It has a very spiky and hard shell. It is dry and has a mildly sweet taste, with slight spicyness, bitterness, or sourness, depending on the color (red, purple, and blue respectively) . It is rather large and favored by the dragon types that inhabit the area. Some dragon Pokémon like to try to slice in half to show their strength. It’s varied and overall mild flavor makes it versatile in cooking. The berries can grow to be extremely large in the right conditions, and could feed an entire family of espurrs.

The Arbuthan Berry was inspired by the berries from the Arbutus unedo (also known as strawberry tree), a small fruit tree native to the Mediterranean.

The etymology of the word "Arbuthan" is arbutus + leviathan.

Appaurana Berry

Only growing in the Phantasmal Forest, the Appaurana berry looks like an eye, staring through the forest. Many can’t help but be struck with fear after finding it. Some even claim the “pupil” of these berries will follow them while in the forest, as if constantly watching any foreign travelers in this area. However, it is unknown the validity of this claim, or if it is simply a delusion caused by fear.

The berry contains chemicals that cause hallucinations when ingested. These hallucinations often involve seeing ghosts appear, and other scary things that arent actually there. The berry normally needs to be ingested for it to take affect, but pokemon in the Phantasmal Forest are often already in a vulvnerable, anxious state due to the creepiness of the forest, allowing just the scent of this berry to cause hallucinations.

This berry can be used for cooking, but the hallucination causing chemicals need to be removed first. The berry tastes bitter, and is an acquired taste.

The Appaurana Berry was inspired by Guarana, a fruit native to the Amazon Basin.

The etymology of the word "Appaurana" is apparition + guarana.

Cantstic Berry

A very hard berry with a round, crystalline shape. The berry is translucent and almost looks like it is made of crystallized psychic energy. These berries can grow to be very large and heavy, and look like crystal balls under intense desert Sun.

The psychic Pokémon of the desert like to roll these berries around the desert due to their unique ability to absorb special attacks

The berry itself taste very sweet, with hints of a unique bitter taste that only serves to enhance the flavor. However the berry is incredibly hard, and must either be licked or ground into small flakes.

Chodat Berry

A sweet dark brown berry that is shaped like a heart and has a very addicting taste. The berry has three layers. The outermost layer is brown, the middle layer is red, and the center is salmon colored. The taste is very sweet with a bit of a syrupy cherry and cocoa taste. It also has just the right amount of spice and is very tender.

This berry grows rarely in the zircon kingdom, on small bushy trees. When eaten, this berry, causes infatuation, similar to being under the effect of attract

Chumpkin Berry

This berry grows in the Charred Forest. Green and Black, with a very burnt taste. The burnt taste is so strong, even just a little bit of this berry in a dish will make it have a burnt tastee

Fire type pokemon absolulety love this berry. It's very calorically dense and incredibly unhealthy however. Its very addicting to fire types however

Cosnut Berry

The rare Cosnut Berry also grows here, a very sweet and tasty, but dry, berry, with just the right amount of spice. The outside is hard and brown, but the inside of the berry is purple and sparkles like the stars in the night sky. Only grows in the Cosmic Coastline. The taste is favored by many who live in the area. To make them last, many Pokemon living in Goldstone City use just a small amount at a time as a spice for cooking in sweet foods. This gives the foods of Goldstone City a flavor unlike any other places, and is no doubt part of the reason Goldstone city and the Cosmic Coastline are such popular places.

Enchord Berry

A very mystical berry that grows in bunches in the Wisteria Gardens. It has a sweet yet balanced and slightly floral taste, and is favored by ghost types.

The berry gives off a mystical glow, which seems to be unique to each berry that grows.

Eating the berry temporary gives you telekinetic powers. For psychic and ghost types that can already do this, it will improve their capabilits. This berry is highly sought after to be given as snacks, as well as used in jam. Because many believe eating it regularly will improve intelligence permanently. Currently, little evidence exists to support this theory however, but it is very popular to bring on picnics.

Some pokemon think the berry itself has telekinetic powers. Many horror stories have been told of pokemon in the forest seeing objects move mysteriously around, and sometimes even being used to attack pokemon, with the enchord berry being the only other living thing around, glowing with an eerie psychic glow. Some pokemon are spooked by the forest hearing this story, but the mysteriousness of it also makes it an exciting place for many others who enjoy the thrill.

The Enchord Berry was inspired by the concord grape, a popular type of grape that was cultivated to be versitile in cooking and resist cold temperatures.

Havron Berry

The rare Havron berry only grows in the Rusted Chasm. It has an iron and umami taste due to the fact it can only grow around the iron deposits deep underwater. The berry is pretty hard on the outside, as if it has a coating of metal, but the inside is still rather juicy. When putting it in your mouth the outside seems to dissolve away and the berry becomes softer. The outside of the berry is a silvery gray, but inside of the berry is a rusted reddish orange color. When the berries outside appears completely silver, that means it has developed it's metallic coating and is ripe and ready to be eaten.

The Havron Berry was inspired by the berries from the Hippophae (also known as Sea Buckthorns or Seaberry), a plant native to northern Europe, as well as other cold areas in Eurasia. "Havtorn" is the name for Sea Buckthorn in swedish.

The etymology of the word "Havron" is havtorn + iron.

Nectoni Berry

Only growing in the Woven Rainforest, the Nectoni berry is an orange berry is filled with a honey-like substance that tastes very sweet. The berry itself tastes rather bitter and sour, but a few Pokemon actually enjoy it’s unique taste. This weirdly shaped berry has hexagon shapes all over it, with small holes in each one. Bug type Pokémon will often suck the sweet honey-like substance from these holes, the substance inside the berry will slowly replenish itself unless it is picked. This berry is highly sought after due to the honey-like substance’s use in cooking.

The Nectoni Berry was inspired by the fruit from Morinda citrifolia (also known as noni), a fruit tree native to Southeast Asia and Australasia.

The etymology of the word "Nectoni" is nectar + noni.

Olcrim Berry

Only found in the Ashen Sands, this rare berry is incredibly spicy, with a touch of bitterness and sourness that gives it a unique flavor. The berry is red, but fades closer to purple as you get closer to the center. In the center of this berry, is a large black seed with a hard, rock-like shell. If the berry is shaken, chemicals inside of this seed will react with each other, causing the berry to explode after a few seconds.

Paiemil Berry

A round juicy berry with splashes of many colors on it that grows near the Limestone Shore. The pattern of the berry makes it look like it has splatters of paint on it.

The Paiemil Berry was based off of a lime.

Pawfre Berry

Only grows in the Feline Fields.

The Pawfre Berry was inspired by the Asimina triloba (also known as Pawpaw), a fruit native to the eastern United States and southern Ontario of Canada.

The etymology of the word "Pawfre" is pawpaw + free. It takes its design and habitat from the fact that "pawpaw" sounds a lot like "paw".

Plasmelon Berry

If a wacan berry plant manages to absorb an abnormally high amount of lightning while growing, a plasmelon berry will grow instead. The conditions for this to occur are quite rare, and can only happen in the Thunderstruck Valley, but the result is a large berry that is bursting with unique flavor. This berry is so flavorful that someone trying it for the first time will have to be eased into the flavor, taking only very small bites at a time, else their senses will be overwhelmed. The flavor is indescribable.

The Plasmelon Berry was inspired by melons. Specifically, it's design was based on a watermelon.

The etymology of the word "Plasmelon" is plasma + melon.

Syzclic Berry

The Syzclic Berry only grows in the Whimsical Woodlands. It’s rather small but grows in small bunches. This berry has very much adapted to the extreme seasonal conditions of the forest, and will change color with the season. It has a completely different taste depending on the season.

In spring, it’s pink, and a very sweet berry. As the season goes on it gets juicer and larger, retaining more water in preparation for the summer

In summer, it’s yellow, and gets a very sour and spicy taste. In the beginning of summer, the berry is as juicy as it can get. As the summer goes on, the berry will begin to become drier

In fall, the berry is orange/brown, and almost completely dries out, and has very mild bitter and spicy taste to it.

In winter, the berry becomes an azure blue color, and starts to lose its dry flavor, becoming juicier throughout the season. It has a mild sweet and bitter taste. It also tastes frozen, even after taking it out of the cold winter forest.

The Syzclic Berry was inspired by the fruits from Syzygium smithii (also known as "lilly pilly"), a tree native to Australia.

The etymology of the word "Syzclic" is syzygium + cyclic.

Vacai Berry

A very slow growing berry that demands an incredible amount of nutrients and water, it has a very unique flavor that is both very sweet and very bitter, and slightly sour. The berry itself is incredibly plump and juicy. It’s loved by some in the Kingdoms, and hated by others. It can only grow in the Amanita Basin due to the rich nutrient content in the muddy water. Toxins from the poison types that inhabit the area are also absorbed by the Vacai berry plant, though anything dangerous is neutralized by the plant, so it is completely safe to eat. However, this is what gives it its bitter flavor. It is said the Vacai plant’s large demand for water is the only reason the Amanita Basin isn’t completely flooded.

The Vacia Berry was inspired by the açaí, a fruit native to the amazon rainforest.
